The Michigan chapter of the United States Pinoys for Good Governance (USP4GG) will hold a Philippine-American Friendship Dinner at St. Josaphat Banquet Center at 26440 Ryan Road, Warren in the evening of July 15, 2017.
USP4GG, a non-profit, non-political 501(c)3 organization, will host the dinner to mark Filipino-American Friendship Day which is celebrated in the Philippines on July 4 of every year.
Willie Dechavez, USP4GG president, said the purpose of the holding of the event is to stress the significance of the long friendly relations between the United States and the Philippines.
Dechavez said that one mission of USP4GG is to educate Filipino-Americans on the principles and values of good governance and to address issues that negate these principles.USP4GG also promotes community understanding of the history and culture of the Filipinos.
The USP4GG president said, “Our organization plans, promotes, organizes and participates in projects that benefit Filipinos and Americans. The projects focus on good governance, promoting the common good and providing opportunities for empowerment and civic engagement.”
Dechavez also said, “As a new organization, Filipino-Americans’ participation in and support for our fundraising event will help us accomplish our mission and goals. For this reason, we urge you to join us in the celebration of Filipino-American Friendship Day.”
Support for the event can be in the form of advertisement in the souvenir program. One full page costs $100; and half page, $60. The deadline for the submission of ads is June 15, 2017.
The prices of dinner Tickets are as follow: Regular, $50; Gold Dinner Sponsor, $100; Gold Donor Sponsor for Couple, $150; and Table Sponsor, $500 with 10 complimentary dinner tickets and free one-page ad
Proceeds from the dinner event will fund USP4GG’s community programs, medical mission in the Philippines and the congressional gold medal project.
